How does PenBot work?
PenBot connects incarcerated individuals to a powerful AI assistant through the CorrLinks email system. They simply send a message and receive an intelligent response — no apps, no downloads, no special hardware needed.
What is CorrLinks?
CorrLinks is the Bureau of Prisons' approved electronic messaging system. It lets inmates send and receive messages from approved contacts. PenBot operates as an approved contact within this system.
How much does it cost?
Base coverage starts at $20/month. Current discount code APRIL2026 gives 25% off when entered at checkout. Physical mail is funded through the inmate's PenBot wallet, and texting is included with Plus at no extra PenBot charge.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All messages are private and encrypted in transit. We do not sell, share, or mine user data. Our systems comply with applicable privacy regulations and BOP communication guidelines.
How do I sign up an inmate?
Visit our Payment Portal, select a plan, and provide the inmate's BOP number. We handle the CorrLinks account setup and send them a welcome message once everything is connected.
What can the AI help with?
PenBot can assist with legal form drafting, daily news digests, job program research, educational content, emotional support, reentry planning, and general knowledge questions — all through simple email messages.
Can family members also use PenBot?
Family members manage the subscription and can relay emails to their loved one through our email bridge. The AI assistant is available directly to the incarcerated person via CorrLinks.
What if my inmate changes facilities?
PenBot follows the inmate's BOP number, not their facility. As long as the new facility supports CorrLinks, the service continues without interruption.
How do I cancel or change my plan?
